Thanks for the comment. It is hard to imagine it but there are probably a lot of young people who have rarely had a letter, postcard or even a lot of cards to look back on. The special feeling you and I got from this, may never be known. That's so strange.

Yes, I can do without the friendship spam mail. That stuff clogs my computer, circulates our names around the globe and causes the 1/2 minute of guilt I feel for not keeping the chain going.

As for your great idea to send a postcard, get at it, you may increase your "friend" to friends.

I believe Andy also said that he would rather receive junk mail by snail mail then receive an email. Apparently, he really hates email. :)

Yes, I too remember receiving letters and post cards as a child, enjoying the special feeling it brought; that someone took the time to write by hand a personal letter, address it to me and then pop a stamp on the envelope and drop it in a mail box. Somebody made a fairly substantial investment in time to make a personal connection.

Sure, today the "email" rules all and is convenient and quick and great for business or commercial use; but perhaps once in a while friends could go through the trouble of sending a letter or a post card through the postal system to one another. Might be a novel and fun alternative to the joke of the day or those chain-emails; you know the ones; they always end with something like... "For good luck forward this email to 10 people, if you delete this email you will be letting children in Africa starve to death!" Nothing like a good guilt trip to say "Good Morning Friend, I'm thinking of you."

Send a post card to a friend and see if you get one in return. Maybe you can start a new trend! I might actually send one to "all" my friend. \m/
