Precognition: The mystery within
Have you ever had knowledge that something was going to happened before it did?
For decades parapsychology researchers and skeptics alike have been weighing in on psychic experiences.
Precognition is one of those unexplainables and yet throughout our history many people famous and not so famous have attested to its existence. Braving possible ridicule when they dared to speak aloud about their new found insight.
Besides my own personal experience with this I have known many people who have spoke at one time or another about their quick flight into the future. It could be as simple as knowing the phone is going to ring before it did. Maybe having a dream that depicts a situation, only to find that same drama plays out later that day, week or month.
We know our brain is underutilized and we are constantly amazed by advancements in understanding the human condition. So, is it really far fetch that we could pick up on more than the standard sensory based information?
What about standing or passing through a place with a strong sense of familiarity “I’ve been here before,” even though you have never been there? How about feeling like you know a person without ever having previously met them?
Has any of this every happened to you or someone you know and if so, how do you rationalize it?
Will we ever know the how and why? Maybe I should be satisfied with the personal knowing and the fun discussions I have with people on the topic and not worry about its proof of existence. But…wouldn’t it be fun if a researcher could conduct an extensive worldwide pole to determine how many people have had this experience? Precognition the mystery within.

HI Jennifer, just had to jump on this one to say I’ve had many such experiences. For instance I knew many years ahead of time that my family home would burn down because of a repeating dream..I shared that dream with my mother who remembered it when we read in the paper years later that it actually happened. Also had a recurring personality (little boy) in dreams as a teenager who reappeared just before I much later in life became pregnant..I believe he was reassuring me a baby was on its way. Have also had dreams about communicating with a close relative who had recently passed away..I conveyed the messages to the necessary people. Gotta say, because of my own experiences…I do believe.
Yes, Gillean, those are the types of examples I’m talking about. It is amazing that skeptics exist when there are so many experiences such as what you described. Funny though, that I have had so many experiences over the years that I have lost count and still I was reluctant to fully acknowledge its presence in my life. Do you doubt yourself? or Do you now pay attention when something comes to you?
Hi again..no I don’t doubt these kinds of things and I try very hard to pay close attention to even the smallest hints from my intuition. It all has meaning..its just a matter of interpreting that meaning..which is sometimes no easy feat! Cheers.
After years of waffling on whether to trust and pay close attention to my intuitive side, I have decided to embrace it. Thanks, for making me feel at home through the sharing of your experiences, Gillean.
